Lucrecia Blanco

Design Lead

I began by studying theater arts, art history, and costume and scene design in Argentina. I received my Masters of Fine Arts (Lighting Design) degree from the University of Illinois. I eventually taught lighting design for theater at Northern Illinois University, heading the lighting design department while running my own practice. I toured with dance companies as a lighting designer before deciding to concentrate on architectural lighting about 17 years ago

I am currently a lighting design lecturer at the University of Washington while I continue to expand Blanca Lighting Design. I am a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor, LEED GA accredited, and a Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers. I sit on the board of the Public Art Advisory Committee of King County, WA. On the side, I volunteer for as many dog rescue opportunities as I am able to, and the rest of my life is dedicated to my amazing son and to an almost obsessive hot yoga practice. Lucrecia Blanco
